Delicate question....

Hi @Brenda - love your doggy avatar. What are their names?
Both of my fur babies have gone to doggie heaven now, and I am dog-less. My Lab was named Singer (AKC name Challedon's A Capella Singer, named after my madrigal book and the neighborhood where I lived). When she was 5 years old, I got my border collie, named her Aria, as per Border Collie Association rules. (Can you tell that I'm a musician by the names I chose for my babies?) Both were registered, but I didn't breed either of them, choosing instead to spay and have them just a beloved pets. Singer died at 13 of bone cancer, and I spent her last night cuddling with her lying on the floor beneath my grand piano because that was her favorite place in the world, and her cancer was so advanced that she could no longer climb the stairs to my bedroom, which was her second favorite place in the world. When Aria was 10, she escaped from my fenced yard and ran away during a thunder storm and I never saw her again. It broke my heart, and because I had moved to a house out of the city of Atlanta and spent many hours away from home, I didn't feel it right to get another dog, only to leave it at home for over 12 hours most days. I now live in an apartment for senior citizens, but could have a small dog. However, I have become mobility challenged, so would have trouble giving a dog enough exercise time, so I've hesitated to get one for now. I will, however, get to live vicariously through your wonderful fur babies

:hi: @Brenda, lovely to have you join us. I'm sorry you have lost Singer and Aria.

I hope you stay with us, there are a few laughs to be had on here!

I have Cassie, 4 year old Black Lab who has been a handful at times but is just gorgeous now. My daughter who lives with me at present has a puppy, Reeva, who is collie x spaniel, aged 5 months.

Hello @Brenda , thank you for telling us about Aria and Singer - they sound like they were wonderful companions and I’m sorry they’re no longer with you. Although we always love hearing about friends no longer here, so do share experiences, stories and photos if you’d like to.
I have Kipper, who’s a nearly-3 yrs old Labrador full of beans and fun.

Sorry your precious girls are no longer with you in body. Thank you for the glimpse into the lives of Aria ans Singer, I hope we get to know more of them - Sue, Coco & Meg on the Isle of Man

Welcome @Brenda, I'm sorry to hear about the loss if your precious fur-babies. I hope you stay with us and share your memories and enjoy our tales.

I live in Sydney, Australia with my hubby and Maxx, the naughty but lovable yellow lab who will be 3 in October. We have had some rough times with him but the gorgeous and wise owls on this forum have gotten us through
