Hi and welcome from me Rory and Iver
Both of my fur babies have gone to doggie heaven now, and I am dog-less. My Lab was named Singer (AKC name Challedon's A Capella Singer, named after my madrigal book and the neighborhood where I lived). When she was 5 years old, I got my border collie, named her Aria, as per Border Collie Association rules. (Can you tell that I'm a musician by the names I chose for my babies?) Both were registered, but I didn't breed either of them, choosing instead to spay and have them just a beloved pets. Singer died at 13 of bone cancer, and I spent her last night cuddling with her lying on the floor beneath my grand piano because that was her favorite place in the world, and her cancer was so advanced that she could no longer climb the stairs to my bedroom, which was her second favorite place in the world. When Aria was 10, she escaped from my fenced yard and ran away during a thunder storm and I never saw her again. It broke my heart, and because I had moved to a house out of the city of Atlanta and spent many hours away from home, I didn't feel it right to get another dog, only to leave it at home for over 12 hours most days. I now live in an apartment for senior citizens, but could have a small dog. However, I have become mobility challenged, so would have trouble giving a dog enough exercise time, so I've hesitated to get one for now. I will, however, get to live vicariously through your wonderful fur babiesHi @Brenda - love your doggy avatar. What are their names?
