My dog Elon of 20 months has a dog wart on his lip. It is not bothering him but it is growing bigger and now it is starting change colour from pink to black.

My vote would be take him to a vet asap. Anything like that in a human that grows quickly and changes colour is very much not a good thing.

I've only had experience with the very contagious type of mouth warts in dogs (and 'wart' here may not be the correct term). With my two that got them as young dogs, it was a not a big deal except the contagious bit which meant I had to keep them at home for a certain period, but that went away quickly and didn't change color. Doesn't sound like that's the case for you.

Better to get it checked out for Elon's safety and your peace of mind. Hope it all goes well for both you and Elon!

Like Emily suggests I would get it checked by a vet. It may well be nothing but it's best to get things like this checked out just to be on the safe side. Any pictures of Elon yet we'd love to see him. ♥

He's beautiful! Monty has some tiny growths on his upper lip,, but they are more like skintags and barely visible. They don't appear to have grown in two years. but this sounds like something different with Elon, a vet visit would be a good idea.

What a very handsome boy. I second that you should pop him to the vet re the wart on his mouth, it is probably nothing, but always advisable to check and to put your mind at rest. Or heaven forbid, if it is something untoward, the quicker it is treated the better, might just need to be removed.
