Doggy Woes

Do you have any woes you'd like to share?

This morning we'd had a lovely autumnal walk and a good run in the field after the ball. I parked up on my path. Next door neighbour, Mark, was over the road chatting to Captain Caveman (he has an elderly Jack Russel called Bella. He's not a caveman-thug, he's an elder gent - who WAS a captain - probably ferry captain - called Captain Kaighan). I got out, leashed up the dogs and they jumped out. Coco spotted Bella and pulled and then yanked & of course Meg copied him. They both yanked together, hard. I slipped on the wet grass, flat on my face, the leads slipped out of my hand and both dogs flew at poor Bella. Captain Caveman dropped her lead. Coco was over-boisterous. Bella was now on her back. I heard a snarl - don't know who. I YELLED at Meg who did stop and wait for me to gather her lead. I caught Coco and marched them back into the porch. Went back to pick up my soggy belongings from the wet grass & triple check Bella was OK, gushing apologies. I crouched in the road, stroking 14 year old Bella as the 2 neighbours finished their chat.

Coco once chased Captain Caveman's cat up a tree - silly cat had followed them out on a walk, we were coming back - Coco spots cat - again, pulled me over and up the tall tree it went.

Oh Sue, I feel your pain I really do. Maxx can be a nightmare when there are other dogs around. I don't dare walk him on my own now as I can't hold him (rubbish wrist strength)

Oh Sue, I hope you are okay. I have had more than my fair share of Charlie actually taking me clean off my feet and dragging me halfway across a muddy field. On those ocassions I let go of the lead or break my arm. When he sees something there is just no chance of me holding on to him as he's so tall and powerfull. Tomorrow's another day, at least that's what I tell myself!! xxx

I have to admit some days I want to murder Stanley.

Having a baby is hard, but having one with him around it’s triple hard.

This week OH is on nights, so Rory has been taking his naps downstairs to not disturb him. I don’t think we’ve had an instance yet where Stanley hasn’t woken him up by being a little arsehole. I’m sure he’s doing it on purpose as well. He will get to right next to where the baby is asleep and do a massive shake, or bark at absolutely nothing, or decide to start having a zoomie.

If I put him in the kitchen not near us he sits at the baby gate and cries because hes being left out 🤦🏻‍♀️

Some days I actually consider sending him to daycare.

Ella definitely tries to wake Nathan. This morning, she decided it was time For breakfast so went into his room and jumped on his bed! 😱😁
