Droopy eye

I have just noticed that one of Maisy's eyelids is hanging lower, the bottom eyelid on her right eye seems droopy. She is tired and due a sleep (which she is having now) but I have not seen this before. Is there a sudden cause of this and is a vet visit needed? I am hoping after her sleep she will be ok again and someone will tell me it is common and nothing to worry about

Is it red in the inside? Sometimes a sore eye will look droopy. Could also be lack of sleep—but then I’d expect both eyes to droop.

Have you tried flushing the eye out with saline? Maybe it’s irritated by some dust.

Can you email the pics to your vet?

I don't think it is lack of sleep but saline is a good idea, so is emailing (better) pics to the vet, that eye is red (from sleepyness) but doesn't look redder than the other one. Not sure about dehydration, will ask the vet if still like it later.

No saline in my first aid kit and none in the shops
I've made an appointment to see the vet but can't get in til 5.30.
On the way to the car (to get the first aid kit) she lay on the lift floor rubbing her eye against the (cold?) floor, after that there was a dead fly on her nose which either came from her eye or the floor. Hopefully that was the problem and it improves now. I can't see anything in it, but then I couldn't before either.

Have just returned from vets (it looked worse so I just went). It looks like there was something there but had come out, nothing there now and no scratches so I have some gel to calm it down. Hopefully no infection or then it will be antibiotics. The vet did a very thorough job, looking under her 3rd eyelid and my mind is at rest now that nothing is actually in the eye. I hope it was the fly, they are squishy enough to not scratch like a grass seed would.

Glad all is ok. You can make your own saline. 1 teaspoon salt in a mug of boiling water. Dissolve salt. Let cool thoroughly.

Hope her eye is better tomorrow. It sounds like whatever it was, you had it seen to promptly, so I expect she'll make a speedy recovery. If you remember GGJ had some eye problems about 4 weeks ago, when we were away. Luckily we were able to get very prompt vet attention and she recovered really quickly.

Looks like the conjunctiva are red and swollen, pushing her eyelid out. Hope the meds do the job and she’s back to her lovely self very soon!

She is much better thanks, the lid is still drooping but not so red and swollen.

Yes I think that is it, the 3rd eyelid looks inflamed and was bulging out, probably looked worse than it was but who's to know with eyes, could have been much worse.
