Droplets

Aspen has these drops that come from his boy bits that are quite inconvenient. He leaves them all over our floors and on the couch. Sometimes he licks it off, sometimes it just...drips. It is kinda gross, but I just have to clean my floors and other surfaces much more often. Has anyone else's dog had this issue? Is it an intact male thing or what?

It's silly boys Willie's it gets better as they get older. They are less spermy as they get more chilled. We went through a join the dots stage when Rory was going through his adolescents but its much better now.

My male dogs had it, hence they have been castrated, no preputial catarrh now :)

I was expecting something about Jelly Drops, I have to say. This is something that came up on my FB the other day and I thought was just wonderful!

As for the slightly less appealing topic, Shadow's disappeared completely when he was under the effects of the Suprelorin and is bad now he's having a testosterone spike, but when his hormones are level it's there on occasion but not something I would consider bad enough to castrate for. Baby wipes do the job when he doesn't. It's just another delightful part of dog ownership :)

I didn't just castrate mine simply because of the unpleasant 'willie drops' but feel it is kinder to have a desexed male. Entire males, at times, must be frustrated and also the call of the wild could cause a road accident. I have known dogs howl and go off their food for quite some time, I feel that is cruel. My castrated dogs are happy and still know they are male.

I didn't mean to imply that's the only reason you did it :)
We have different ideas about that, and that's just fine. Shadow isn't frustrated by bitches in season - he didn't have a clue what was going on when a bitch camped outside our gate, squealing to get to him. And he's never in a situation where he'd cause an accident. It's always down to the individual and what's best for them. If Shadow showed any signs of distress that could be attributed to him being entire, I would have him neutered. If the use of the Suprelorin had showed that he was less nervous when he was on it, I would definitely have considered it. As it is, there is no need to put him through what I feel is unnecessary surgery. In his case, the only benefit would seem to be the lack of willy drops :)

Those Jelly Drops are pure genius. What an amazing young man.
I know, right?! I love his grandma; in one video I saw her taking another drop at the same time as she was putting one in her mouth. She clearly loved them!
