Phew! Only just catching up with this Kate. So glad Reuben is OK. Many years ago our Lab Solstice, then 8 months old, took a childproof (but not puppy proof!) container of soluble Aspirin from the work top while we were out for a short time, chewed it open (I expect it rattled nicely) and ate the contents - probably about 80 aspirins! We were both horrified of course and felt SO guilty, really had no idea that she'd be able to reach them. Luckily they must have all fizzed up inside her because she had already been very sick by the time we got home. The vet said it was lucky that they were soluble, not ordinary ones. She had an overnight stay at the vet and was on a drip, but suffered no ill effects and went on to live a happy life of continued mischief! Don't they give us scares?! Very glad your little (or not so) lad is safe and well.:tail::clap::cancan:

Great news and now a stiff drink to calm down. Then a walk or should it be the other way round? Oh heck just have one now, then a walk and a few more when you get back.

Reuben had his final bloods this morning , I was a little nervous because I knew that it can take several days for the effects of garlic poisoning to affect the red blood cells . The bloods went straight to the practice with the fancy diagnostic machine , where he went on Saturday and we have just had the results . His red blood count has gone up a little further which is great , all other functions are perfect . This has all been a lesson to us , never ever assume with a puppy , never ever leave anything at gettable height , plus the realisation that we have a counter surfer on our hands ! xxx
