I do love him. A lot. But Steve is in hospital and Maxx has moments, as always, and when I'm on my own coping with a crazy job and looking after all things house, he can really just drive me mad. Today was bark bark bark, play with me NOW, steal some stuff and run around like a crazy dog, bark bark bark. Almost all day. Does anyone want him? This was tonight after a full day

It's ok, I get it, he doesn't understand and he wants his Dad. It's the second time in 6 weeks that Steve has vanished and I leave him for about 4 hours every day while I visit him in hospital which is unusual. Poor Maxx, I just have to deal with it. But it's not easy

I am convinced that our dogs feel our stress and worries , Reuben was the same when I first had the bypass and was absent for a few days and then a few weeks ago when I was in hospital for ten days, he was unsettled and upset . They all display this is different ways, Maxx is obviously missing his Dad but this makes it hard on you, having to cope with everything , I wish I could help , I would take him in a heartbeat for a little Cornish holiday , love and hugs xxxx

Bah ha ha, Steve was so looking forward to seeing Maxx. He walked up the stairs and into the loungeroom and Maxx waddled into the room with a half-eaten Kong and ignored him completely! However once the precious Kong was devoured he followed him round 'bark bark bark - play with me' for about 3 hours. By the end of it I think Steve knew why I was going bonkers! I, on the other hand, sat serenely at my computer with a smug smirk and finally got some work done.

So pleased Steve is home, and that you can now feel less pressured to be the sole caregiver for Maxx. On top of all your other worries.
