Fantastic spaniels !

We went to the beach very early this morning , I did my " Nanny " thing , took Silas and Nelly for a walk along the sea shore where we saw a lady with six assorted spaniels , she was swimming with them all . Much later , she appeared near to where we were sitting ,close to the river which flows into the sea and were mesmerised to watch her training session , she was fantastic ! Three would be allowed to swim and play whilst three had to sit and wait, which they did without moving a muscle, eyes intently on her for the signal upon which the three in the water came out to a perfect sit whilst the three who had been sitting were allowed into the river . Here is a photo of the sitting spaniels , patiently waiting their turn and ignoring the digging dog which wasn't hers !

Beautiful dogs, I am sure @Heidrun will love this photo! I saw friend in our village the other day, she has a Cocker Spaniel and is looking after a Welsh Spaniel, I have never seen one before, they have a quite labby looking face, but oh my she was just beautiful, 8 months old, as calm as you like, no jumping up and she took a shine to me I'm not a Spaniel person but I could have quite easily taken her home, just a super little dog xx

Yeah there's a welshie next door. He's lovely but he howls every time they go out. Every single time for hours and hours. I told them still he howls. Sweet dog but very sensitive and they don't my being left alone

On the topic of spaniels, I heard on the News earlier the initiative they have for using spaniels to sniff out water leaks by training them to detect Chlorine.
