Finn has a wart on his eyelid

I’m pleased it went well. Always such a relief to have them home.

Interestingly Snowie hasn’t tried to rub his eye with his paw. He does rub his face in his blanket, but he always does that when he has a runny nose (allergies).

How long must the cone stay on? And do you go back to have the stitches removed? Our vet wants to remove the stitches even though they are dissolvable. We go back on Friday (10 days later). She said they take too long to dissolve and the eye heals faster when they are removed; she said when they stay in, they cause inflammation.

Finn has to wear the cone for 14 days. On the 13th day after the removal the stitches will be removed, so on the 28th of September. Until then I have to use the eye antibiotics to prevent inflammation

Thanks for asking Cath. We hardly notice his eye, this vet is amazing at stitching up. We are putting the drops into his eye 3x day, which needs a nice treat to keep his head still otherwise the drop ends up outside his eye! The vet showed us how to do it… with absolute ease!! When I asked her how long we must do it, she said for as long as the tube lasts, which depends on how many drops land outside the eye!! 😆

Yes, thanks for asking! Finn is doing very well and is almost his old self again! He is getting used to his cone, he is even trying to chase a cat with the cone….
We also have to put drops in his eye 3 times a day, and when he sees it he just close his eye and won’t open it….:cwl:The vet didn’t mention to clean his eye, but in the morning and evening I clean it with just a bit of clean water, and he likes this
