I hope he's feeling better tomorrow, he loks so sad in his cone.

Finn has to wear the cone for 14 days. On the 13th day after the removal the stitches will be removed, so on the 28th of September. Until then I have to use the eye antibiotics to prevent inflammationI’m pleased it went well. Always such a relief to have them home.
Interestingly Snowie hasn’t tried to rub his eye with his paw. He does rub his face in his blanket, but he always does that when he has a runny nose (allergies).
How long must the cone stay on? And do you go back to have the stitches removed? Our vet wants to remove the stitches even though they are dissolvable. We go back on Friday (10 days later). She said they take too long to dissolve and the eye heals faster when they are removed; she said when they stay in, they cause inflammation.
Agree. We are forever removing "dissolvable" stitches that are impairing complete healing. Particularly "end knots"She said they take too long to dissolve and the eye heals faster when they are removed; she said when they stay in, they cause inflammation.

The vet didn’t mention to clean his eye, but in the morning and evening I clean it with just a bit of clean water, and he likes this
