I must see some improvement. Tomorrow he will get novacam. He will get this 5 days.We have to see how he reacts. If I think it is still very painful I will call the vet and hear what she wants. Tomorrow is also my oh’s day off. That makes it a little easier for me...

How can I get him to drink? I put some tuna in his water bowl without succes. He seems frightened of his water bowl...

It might be that the leaning down to the bowl pulls the muscle and causes more pain? Could you elevate it more? Or syringe some water into him? (Like the calpol ones)

I’m so sorry. Have you massaged his back? I find with Snowie, when his back is sore, a good massage gives him a lot of relief.

His bowl is elevated. I even held it under his nose and he will turn his head away. I manage to get him 5cc of water with the syringe. I only have a 2cc syringes...

My OH came home and he started drinking. He was so happy he came home!

I’m so glad Finn has had a drink when your husband came home. Morphine could make him feel very disoriented so he may not be able to focus on his bowl or even be thinking about drinking. I hope you all have a more settled night x

How is Finn this morning? If there’s no improvement, I’d recommend seeing a specialist orthopedic vet who will probably want to see xrays and an mri. Best to have it properly diagnosed.

I’m sorry you’re going through this again, after Euan. I can imagine how heartbroken you are. Fortunately a slipped disc (if it’s that) can heal and there is hope. Snowie was just like Finn, although he also screamed in pain. It’s 4 years later and he is so much better.
