Ok @M.F. as you requested, here is my best attempt over the last couple days!

Hugo and Gizmo having one of many play sessions. Hugo loves to … ahem…hump Gizmo every chance he gets so I’m trying to fix that. Going to buy him a big teddy bear and see if he will use that instead! 🤞

I was in the yard with Hugo working on some leash training when a deer showed up! Hugo did very well, he watched her calmly (unlike the hair brush encounter 😅) and he ended up turning around and walking away, which is not caught on film as I was mainly worried about streamlining treats during this encounter 😊

He is sooo darling. Easy for me to say, I know. I’m not dealing with sleep deprivation and the jaws of needle teeth! I swore after my last puppy I would not have another - too much work!! 😀 Mind you, not sure that Simba, who was 9 months old when we got him, was exactly easy, either :wink:

I hope you are able to get better sleep this week! And that the biting fades away sooner rather than later! 🙏🏻

Ahhhh, I love his voice!! What a gorgeous boy he is. And Gizmo is brave, I love how well he stands his ground. Also you’re doing such a fabulous job with Hugo - his check ins with you are lovely 🥰

I don’t think hurdles can be avoided at any age! The older the puppy/dog the more of a background and already formed habits. Brand new puppies it’s all about shaping from square one. I said after Axel I would never get a puppy again, and here I am with a puppy, once again saying I’ll never get a puppy again 😂

Sleep has been very much improved, Hugo sleeps for about 9-10 hours each night! 😃 only have a couple days left of antibiotics though so we will see 😔

They are in my yard ALL the time, honestly every day multiple times a day. Actually drives me nuts as they poop EVERYWHERE 😩 and they can be quite mean to dogs! Which thankfully I haven’t had a bad encounter yet. Axel was fantastic and never once would go after them, so I’m hoping Hugo will be the same.

But I get everything, deer, bears, racoons, foxes and coyotes. Coyotes worry me the most as they kill many pets in my area 🥺 When Hugo was having his runny bums in the middle of the night I was quite concerned as our yard isn’t fenced, and I could hear them yipping near by and no street lights so couldn’t see a thing 😬
