For those of us in the UK who love hearing about @kateincornwall and her beloved Golitha Falls, and ( like me) wish we could see them, BBC2 at 6.30 thisevening, Rick Stein's Cornbeefwall!
I now remember Kate posting last year that she had been walking there and came upon Rick Stein and Dawn French filming so who knows, maybe we'll catch a glimpse of Kate, Nelly and Reuben! I for one will be watching like a hawk, GGJ by my side!:fingers:

We saw the trailer last night , so so looking forward to this xxxx

Oh I am overjoyed , this is our woodland cafe , right by the entrance , much loved by the dogs who usually get biscuits ! When Dawn spoke of her daughter living five minutes from Golitha , the house is literally over our garden wall , her step son still lives there ( he is lovely )and she and husband visit often . I love this place so much , its special and I am lucky xx

Nearly missed it, missed the first 15 mins, Dawn French is now talking to Rick Stein.

@kateincornwall was "Inkie's" in the car park of Golitha Falls? Only saw about 30 seconds.
Yes , the girls bought the lease of the car park and toilets from the council and got permission for the cafe which is extremely popular , bitter/sweet for us locals who used to have the place to ourselves but we have no right to be selfish . The girls are very good to Paul , he always gets a cup of tea free of charge while I walk the dogs, right where Dawn and Rick were x

It was wonderful to see your beloved Golitha on TV Kate, it's so very beautiful - that water !
Reuben loves to swim there as did Sam before him . The source of the River Fowey is on Bodmin Moor which is just up the lane from Golitha , near to Jamaica Inn . I havent been to Golitha for a while because of Reubs Kennel Cough but I`ll be back very soon , its good for the soul xxx

Are the accents of the locals in the show Doc Martin really how Cornbeefwallingtons sound? I love that accent - and the show (we only recently discovered it)
Sadly, some of the actors accents are terrible ! People tell me that I have the Cornish accent but I dont think I have ! My great Uncle Bill had such a broad Cornish accent that even my Aunt had trouble understanding him at times

Ah heck I missed this. It was on telly while I was preparing dinner. I heard Dawn & said to OH "oh I like Dawn French"...and on they babbled. If I'd seen this thread earlier...

Actually one of the reasons I said I liked the accents in the show last night is that despite having spent nearly a year here altogether (about a half a second in Cornish time, but quite a bit for me!), I'm not sure I've ever heard a proper strong Cornish accent in person. So many people in this area are from somewhere else. For that reason I don't think of @kateincornwall 's accent as "Cornish" but rather just "Kate". I haven't heard enough examples!

So Kate is the judge of Doc Martin, not me. 😂

However, seeing as I'm less than 30 minutes drive from Port Isaac (Port Wenn on the show), I can tell you it really is that pretty and well worth a visit. I go every year, hopefully this year too if things get better.

Here's some photos of our last pre-COVID visit. The first one is taken a couple doors down from Doc Martin's house, which is a holiday let if you want to stay there someday. 😁
