Graze or lump?

I just dropped her off. She's getting worse at the vet so we're probably going to start on an oral anti anxiety type med for future visits. The poor girl was shaking so much when we got there so I ended up sitting on the floor in the waiting room so that she sit on me. I know that sitting on my lap will always calm her down (I think she thinks she's a 10kg lap dog πŸ™„πŸ˜).

Anyway, now I wait for the call. The vet will take the opportunity to give her a full once over and trim her nails while she's sedated.

Phew! She's ok!

The vet said it was a good job I brought her in and that she was sedated as there was a lump of hair in there and it was full of pus!

We're guessing that she cut it at some point and the hair ended up under the scab and became infected. Now it's just a clean, small flat wound and she'll have a short course of antibiotics.

Just to show how bad she is with her nails, when fully sedated, she didn't flinch at the pus being cleaned and scalpel being taken to the wound. But, when they cut her nails, she still managed to flinch and gently try to move her paw away πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

Poor girl. I can't wait to pick her up πŸ₯°

Great news Emily, glad it's now sorted. You were right to take her in. I sympathise with the nails, Monty is getting worse now

What a relief! Glad it was something straightforward to sort out. I am sorry she is feeling stressed at the vet though xx
