Happy 2019

Happy New Year from me and mine , glad to see the back of the old year and look forward to this one . No resolutions here either, they never last ! I would like to get Reuben to a decent level of calmness ( please let me have this dream ! ) and Nelly to carry on being Nelly, our funny little angel .
Reuben loves this chair , as his predecessor did , and adopts the same pose too . Just want to add thanks in abundance , for all the support shown this year , what a lovely bunch you all are xxxxxxxx

I know, I was just looking back through my 2018 calendar (obviously inferior to 2019!) and laughing with my daughter at a series of ticks and crosses for the first 2 weeks of Jan -- I think it's a record of my attempt at being alcohol free -- I'm so weak!!:giggl:

As an experienced Lab owner I'm sure you will get there!

(P.s. you’ll be astounded to learn I don’t speak German, just my own pidgin version gleaned from my mum who learnt it in the 50s :D)
Wie komme ich am besten zum Bahnhof, bitte?
Letztes Jahr, bin ich nach Spanien geflogen.

Those are the two phrases I always remember from my GCSE German. I loved it at school, but was put off taking it at A-Level by the German teacher at the school I was moving to - who was then gutted when I got an A* on my GCSE :D

How exciting for you, @Boogie!

We had to do French & German at school. I loved French, but could not get on with German. The way to avoid being asked a tough question in class was to get an answer in early on, and the teacher would always start with a question about the weather. Come rain or shine, summer or winter I would put my hand up and chime "es ist sehr kalt, aber hier haben wir eine Zentralheizung" (or something like this - I've had to Google-translate it now).
