Happy Tales

Bella is doing great. She's a smart little thing. I'm about to go get some photos of her, and will set up her own thread.

For now, though, here's a photo of Kenny, a mastín español who was a total hooligan and, despite being the softest thing in the world, was rather intimidating as his ample frame came hurtling towards me and my camera :cwl:

I think @Emily_Babbelhund will appreciate this boy. I didn't get any decent pictures of him or his sister Kenza, but this one makes me laugh.

I'm putting this one here instead of in my Bella thread, because I'm showing off my new logo! The website is well on its way now, and I'm looking forward to getting that published - although the first iteration will be with most of the pages turned off until I'm set up as a legal entity.

I'm super pleased with my logo / watermark. I won't normally make it as prominent as this on the images, but I wanted to show it to you guys :)

Volunteer Janet is away sorting some stuff in the UK at the moment, so I'm on a bit of a forced hiatus from the shelter photography. But, I'm learning a new skill, which is using off-camera flash (literally, a flash that is not attached to the camera :D ). Yesterday was my first time out with it, and I just stayed in the garden, but I think it's going to be fun!

The downside is that the equipment is big and a bit of a pain to carry anywhere - I certainly won't be hiking anywhere with it - but for locations that are easier to get to, once I can get over my imposter syndrome and fear of looking like a tool out in public, I'm keen to try it out for some new looks.

Wow, looks more like a painting than a photograph.
Yeah, it doesn't help that the compression from uploading gives it that yukky colour banding in the sky!

Have to admit my first thought was, "Wait, what? There's a black Lab in the shelter?!"
We almost never see other Labradors around here at all. They're just not a common breed in this neck of the woods. Are there lots of them down south?

I keep meaning to ask, could a mod please change the name of the thread to "Happy Tales" now since that's what I'm using these days? Ta!

No, not common at all in the south either. Usually if you see one, it's a UK expat who has brought them down with them. That's why Carbon looked like a flipping unicorn when I first saw him walking through all those galgos at the shelter. He actually thought he WAS a Galgo (cry and whine when he saw one) until he met the @Beanwood 's and "found his people".😂

I really did mean it as a compliment though looks like you didn't take it that way. I know that's not your usual thing, but that 'is it a painting or a photograph?' style is really intriguing to me. The detail is amazing.

I love this photo I captured of Willow at the weekend. We'd hiked for an hour in the dark up a mountain to catch the sunrise - but when it came, it was cloudy. She hadn't been swimming, her wet fur is from the grass which had caught the overnight torrential rain!

This is pure Willow: contemplative, soaking wet, mouth full of cones. My special girl :inlove:
