Hello From Charlie Brown (and me!)

Hello Labrador Friends, this is Charlie Brown, who joined our family last September at 10 weeks old.

He is coming up on 14 months, and is a rambunctious, silly, sweet, chewing handful. He has brought so much energy and life into our household and my children adore him, but if I am honest, the first year with him was much, much more difficult than I anticipated.

This and other fora have been incredibly helpful in providing me with information and tips so I thought I would step out of crowd and be more active as we navigate the challenges and joys of the coming year.

Hello to you all from sunny Berlin!

Hi @parseraisin :highfive: great to see you and Charlie Brown here! He’s a beautiful boy. And entirely feel you - those early years (?) are haard at times. Welcome from me, Kipper our nearly-6 year old lab and Stilton our nearly-16 week old lab 🙌

Hello @parseraisin and a Warm and Waggy Welcome to you and Charlie Brown from me and Joy (aka GGJ, which stands for GoodGirlJoy, due to her long standing belief that she is the Goodest dog on the forum :giggl:)
It's been a little while since we had a new member and it's lovely to have you with us. As others have said, the first few months with a Labrador pup are really, really hard work. It's all SO well worth it in the end though, and you're in the right place to find people to support you through it. Stick with us and we'll show you a good time!:celebrate::sun:

Welcome from me and Snowie in sunny Cape Town (we’re hoping the winter weather will come back this weekend!). Snowie is now an old timer at 11.5 years old but is so patient with puppies.

Just yesterday I gave away his remaining puppy toys. Lots of ropes and chew toys. Can’t believe how many I had kept all these years. We needed them then!!

Officially welcome from me and my cat, Gizmo🤭! In 6 weeks I’ll have a chocolate puppy again, life sure is quiet and boring without a Labrador! (Or any breed of course)

I will soon be reminded of the difficult first year with a puppy. It sure becomes a distant memory though when they reach adulthood and you can look back and laugh at the struggles. Charlie Brown is very handsome!

Wow, I've had a crazy weekend and only just managed to pop back in. Thank you all for the warm welcome, and for the compliments to Charlie Brown. We also think he is a handsome guy, if a bit stinky - he is a typical adolescent and has decided that baths are not his thing at the moment!

Your messages are a balm after a walk yesterday in which he wrapped me in the long lead and pulled me over! Thank you, thank you, I look forward to participating more.
