On prey/ predators getting along: a friend of mine used to have a pet rock python, Roxanne

.
She was “free range”, would sleep in bed with him to share his heat, and the only time she would go in her vivarium was when she needed feeding, when he’d pop her in there with (at the time) a baby rabbit. By the morning, the rabbit was gone and Roxanne was happy for another few months.
One time, he did exactly this, the same as normal. In the morning, he expected to see Roxanne alone in her tank, but no. She was curled up at one end, and the rabbit was at the other, staring at her. He decided to leave her to it, but after a couple of days she still hadn’t fed and he had to go buy some rabbit food to put in the tank. It went on, with days of them coexisting. He even found them curled up together
In the end, he took the rabbit out and gave it to a friend as a pet. He got another one, put it in the tank and it was gone by morning.
The rabbit from the story lived a full and happy life.
It always made me wonder if the rabbit could talk “snake” and what he had said to Roxanne!
