Holly at the vet again

She’s dozing in her bed at the moment. No poop yet today, but after a day on rice she is sometimes a bit constipated. It would be nice to see a bit more deer bone come out.

Her leg is still worrying her, but she seems able to put a bit of weight on it which is a good sign. She had her last painkiller with breakfast so we‘ll be looking to see how much it worries her as it wears off.

How is Holly, Phil? Any improvment?

Holly is starting to poop more regularly. They’re a bit sloppy, probably because of the paraffin Gel, but no more bits of bone have emerged. There are no signs of blood in the poop so fingers crossed the bone did no damage.

Shes still not happy with her front right leg. She can walk a short distance on it but prefers lying down to standing. All we can do is rest her and see how it improves.

She likes her daily routine so we are trying to keep her routine as close to normal as possible.

The bone-eating update is sounding good, but it's a pity she's still sore on that leg. As we seem to be in for a heat-wave this week, maybe resting won't be too difficult.

I miscounted the number in the packet. She has her last one Tuesday morning.

We took her on Friday. She's better than she was, but still not happy. I'm inclined to see what she's like when she comes off painkillers tomorrow.

I'm staying down with Holly again tonight - Ruth stayed with her last night.

She seems to have got herself comfortable and is sleeping soundly. This is a lot better than a couple of nights ago.

She‘s just been out to the garden and seemed to be moving more easily. She didn't look uncomfortable squatting, but didn't use her front right when scuffing the grass. Right now she is lying in front of me doing her quiet barking routine to try and convince me its breakfast fime!

It's an improvement over yesterday when squatting was rather hurried.
