Holly's Walks

I'm pleased to announce that the second book in the Holly's Walks series was released to Amazon about five minutes ago. It should be appearing on the Amazon website in a few days time.

Book one described our favourite dog walks in the Wye Valley. Book two took us east into the Forest of Dean.

It's taken over two years to complete because I underestimated the size of the Forest. It's huge. Choosing our top ten walks was impossible so this book has eleven walks. Some of them have options, which was a sneaky way of adding in a couple more walks!

The author is snoozing in her bed, exhausted by the task of writing this epic tome, and has asked me to thank her pals for their help in testing the walks.

About five minutes ago I finished the first draft of the updates to the Wye Valley book. Covid Lockdowns completely messed up the timetable, but Holly and I have finally finished all the revisions.

We've dropped one walk - Loysey Woods - as the forest has been massacred by logging and is no longer attractive. We've added three more walks, two around the Doward area and one near Cleddon. Some routes have been adjusted to take account of changes on the ground. Some new pictures have been added. All the maps have been redone to add detail and improve the colour scheme which printed poorly in the first edition. Where two walks can be joined together to make a longer walk I've indicated the joins on the maps and in the text. After positive feedback from the Forest of Dean book, I've added some information boxes with general information about the area.

It's been a mammoth project. The next step is to proof read it before sending for publishing.

Proof reading finished. Now to update the cover.

I've just had a look at the monthly sales figures. Unsurprisingly they plummeted with the March lockdown and went to zero in April. They've not made double figures since February which is a big drop compared to 2019. No royalties means no more Bonios for Holly!
