Honey (and of course Vanilla)

Thanks all for the kind comments.

Yes they do look settled, which has surprised me. I knew Vanilla is gentle with pups out and about, but she also moves on when she has had enough. Same as when we went to a friends house who just got a 8 week old one. He was 9weeks old when we visited, but after about 10min, she had had enough and became agitated. This seems to be very different, but in a good way.
Unfortunately Honey has managed to wee on Vanillas bed yesterday whilst OH was not paying attention during the day. Washed it and dried it, and Vanilla does not seem phased by it. So that is a good thing.

I do hope they carry on this way. Play time between them is going well, and when it gets to rough we say 'enough' and because Vanilla stops Honey stops too most of the time, if not we remove Honey. So that seems to be working for now. Of course they then seem to seek each other out again and start all over.
But they can also just play and then go their separate ways, Vanilla will chill and Honey goes to explore, has a wee and then chills. This is without us having to interfere, so they seem to be picking up signals, especially Honey.

I am going to rename Honey to Flash though, she has made a beeline for the stairs twice now and managed to make her way up a few steps. Not impressed as we carry her up and down stairs, same as what we did with Vanilla. She will be out through the Baby gate before we have even managed to open it properly. So need to rethink this one...

Last night she woke up to many times for my liking, but I think in part it was due to it being to hot. She got out of her box, but as soon as she was out she just flaked on the floor and fell a sleep. So think it is more the warmth.
She also has a runny tummy which we knew could happen, but I am currently putting it down as a combination between heat and stress.

We will see what today brings and the weekend and of course I will post some more pictures and need to find one of her belly, as I know everybody likes one of those....

This is lovely to hear @VanillaBean, it’s super that you’re pleased with their dynamic so far and it sounds so promising.
Just a quick note that I remember Kipper being a little lightening streak with babygates early on, trying to dash through - it seemed to ease off as he learnt some impulse control, although that might be wishful thinking?

Yes Vanilla was the same thinking back, but just forgot how quick they can move. Plus you are always worried they are going to hurt themself. She does seem to be quicker though if Vanilla is upstairs. So need to just control that part...

Can you freeze a hot water bottle and wrap it up? Luna ran so hot as a young puppy (and still does, though not as bad) that she would seek out cool places to sleep. It might be worth a try, to see if it settles her.
