Honey X-Rays

Thanks all for support.
Xray's came back and not bad but not good either. They are being sent of to a specialist to have a look to see what they think and see if we need to do anything specific early on.

The Socket joint is not growing all the way round as it should on the right Hind leg. There is a gap compared to the other side, so potentially it may catch up as she is still growing.
She could move it fully, not move out of the joint etc. so she did say it would be mild as she gets older. So now we have to restrict her movement when it comes to rough play, running around and doing sharp corners, jumping etc. Which we do to some extend anyway, but now it will be 5 min of play then back on leash for a calm down or remove and play on own.
Only good thing on our side is it was nothing we have done as it is from birth due to the growth...still not nice but at least less guilty.

At least she was full of life and vocal when we got there and had a good day at the vets. Plenty of attention, and went bunters when we picked her up with licks at hundred miles an hour on my face.

She will be getting scored same as Vanilla did so that we know what to do moving forward and to see how bad or better it has gotten by that stage. This is of course next year once she is older and gone through a season.
In the meantime more swimming and less running around like a crazy pup.

Better to know it now than to find out later and feel terrible guilt for letting her play wildly! Of course none of this is your fault; it's a genetic defect, doesn't mean you won't feel bad about it though.

One thing, my vet and physio told me that actual swimming is not great for dogs with bad hips. Splashing and running around in water is good, but too much free swimming is less good, as the movement of the leg is sideways rather than up and down. Also once she is fully grown there are all sorts of exercises you can do to strengthen the muscles that hold the joint in place, so even if that joint is bad you can minimize the effect and hopefully she won't have symptoms or develop arthritis.
