How big are your kongs?

Just wondering what size kongs people use for their labs if you use them. I stopped using them for a while and switched to frozen tux s instead as Neo tended to get quite frustrated rather than enjoying the experience. I’ve recently brought a couple out of retirement to see how he gets on now and watching him with one he can nearly fit the whole thing in his mouth and being the worrier that I am I’m concerned about choking. I have the large size which is supposed to be suitable for his size (25kg), just curious what size other people use as I do have a tendency to overthink things!

We use both medium and large - but 90% of the time use the large ones as they occupy him longer and he seems to be able to manoeuvre them better. We just didn't want to throw the perfectly good medium ones out so always have an emergency supply in the freezer for times when we need him to be diverted (such as when I am on a work Teams call and he is throwing toys at me to entice me to play)

We fill them with low calorie fillings such as boiled carrots blended with water, banana and water blended or, for special occasions such as when we are going out - cooked chicken blended with water. They are his absolute favourites (of course)

Snowie has a red kong that has gone to waste. He gives up and can’t be bothered to even try to get the food out. And cleaning it out is just revolting for me!

So, if he needs something to lick, I use a small porcelain bowl which I smear with something. Used to be peanut butter, but I think he’s allergic to peanuts cos he gets a runny nose and runny eyes afterwards (might be coincidence). So, now I’m smearing the bowl with coconut oil and marmite (it’s is YUUUUM!!).

He treats the bowl so delicately, picks it up gently in his teeth to reposition it. I wanted to add a video of him doing this, but looks like I can’t. I guess I have to host my video somewhere?

It’s good to get some new ideas, thanks all. Unfortunately with Neo’s ongoing separation and general anxiety issues I have to think of everything in ‘consumption time’ as he can’t be on his own whilst we work on it.

When L is working away there are short periods where it’s unavoidable but I’m lucky that he isn’t so anxious on his own that he won’t eat, so as long as I time it right and am back in the room before he finishes he just eats his snack and doesn’t get upset. A frozen meat and kibble tux buys me 20mins for a shower, fruit and yoghurt ones are quicker and a kong bone with biscuits and peanut butter is 10mins to put the bins out and sort the recycling! I will have to time the kong next time now he seems to enjoy them again. Does anyone have any suggestions for long lasting fillings?

Biscuit Tin Guardian
Joy takes about 15 minutes to devour a Kong. She has one for her supper in the evening. I fill them with kibble from her daily allowance, mixed with fat free natural yogurt, some bits of raw carrot and cucumber, then about a teaspoon of Paw Originals peanut butter for dogs ( made with only ground and roasted peanuts, no added oil or anything else). I cram it all in very firmly with a spoon handle and then it goes in the freezer for at least 24 hours.
She loves her Kongs Veryvery much and gets quite indignant if I forget to give her one.
