How did you choose your dogs name?

Our previous dog just had to be called Solstice because she was born on the Winter Solstice. On the morning of the day we were due to go and see Joy for the first time I was doing some gardening, listening to the radio and thinking of possible puppy names. The name Joy was one I was toying with, but I wasn't sure. Just then Beethoven's 'Ode to Joy' came on. It was a glorious early May morning, I was coming up to retirement and we were going to be getting a new puppy. Once again it just had to be!:sun:

I was driving the car when a programme came on about "Rourke's Drift" and I thought Drift was a good name for my new pup. When I had my second Lab 6 years later, I was going to call him Flute but my friend said, he has to be Rourke, so Rourke he is! However, his nickname is "Porkie" as it is easier to say than Rourke, but he isn't the slightest bit fat!
Rourke is a great name for a dog, and no he sure isn't Porkie! Actually Drift is great name too.
