How long are your walks?

We have several options of walking straight from our door.
We avoid our top woods during the weekdays as they are used for the outdoor nursery.
Sometimes we can't walk the farm track off lead as the field can be used for sheep.
That leaves a short jaunt around the park or on road/on lead walking to get to somewhere else off lead.
Fields around here are mostly ploughed so not for walking right now.

It is only 5 mins in the car to our local decent woods, and 20-30 mins tops to get to the beach (West Sands in St Andrews or Tentsmuir).

I do a bit of both. All evening walks are all from our house on foot. Sometimes we walk to one of the walks with lots of fields and woods, but only if my back is ok as it takes 15-20mins walking (all on lead) to get there and the same on the way back. The other times I drive 2-3 mins to the walk I said above, 5 mins to the big fields or sometimes we go to other woodlands that are 20-30 mins drive.

I miss all my walks I had in Fife. 5 - 10 minutes in the car and I could be in a variety of places for off lead walks, 15 - 20 minutes to a choice of beaches.

Here in Norfolk I still haven’t found many places to go that don’t involve crossing the dreaded A47. I think that’s a combination of arriving here just as winter started and all the work that’s being done here in the house. Having said that there are some nice walks round the village: along the river front, through some fields and a short woodland walk so Toffee does get some ball chasing time. I really notice the difference in how often I have to fill the car up with fuel as I hardly ever use it now, especially as I get my groceries delivered as well.

The boys still get 30 - 40minutes walk in the morning, usually this involves some training as well. In the afternoon it’s an hour or two depending on what I’ve been doing (and the weather), so I don’t think they’re missing out.
I will eventually get to the beach again with them, and other dog walkers have told me a few places I can get to easily in the car. Roll on summer :happy:.
