Hunter's Limping Again

One word... RELIEF! She basically said that the way they treated me was too blase over a serious situation.
In his stitches there was fluid due to the infection and lots of air due to the loose skin.
It was a huge palava before he let her touch him. She squeezed the air and fluid out. She can't believe they did not see that on Monday. I have cream for his shoulder. Friday is too early for stitches to be removed. She will do it Monday. Enough antibiotics to last till then. I have to try and massage near his stitches... If he let's me!
He is still distressed but now I know why
Thank you everyone for all your support.
You have no idea how much it has helped and is helping me

Thank goodness @Loraseal , well done for your tenacity - she sounds like she’s on the case and doing her best for Hunter. Poor boy, he’s being so brave and good to hear he’s a little better already; hopefully he’ll be feeling a lot brighter very soon xx

I'm so glad you got another opinion! We know our dogs best and you knew he wasn't ok. Hopefully he's on the road to recovery now.

Good for you for seeking a second opinion. A good lesson that the owner knows their dog best, and knows when something is wrong. I’m so glad your vet took action.

I really am curious why opening an infected wound will make the infection worse. I’d think you’d want to get in there, let it drain, irrigate it to clean it out, and actually see what’s going on. There isn’t a chance they might’ve left in a swab? If it doesn’t get better soon, I’d be asking them to open up the wound and investigate.

Poor Hunter. And poor you. I totally empathize. When Snowie is not well, I find I can’t move from the sofa, and find myself instructing my husband on what to do. I often want to curl up and close my eyes and avoid the situation.

I hope tomorrow brings you a waggly tail.
