If you have the Puppy Blues, you might want to read this

Welcome @Jilldrinkwater . It’s not at all uncommon to find it all a bit much, particularly when you’re tired. It really is all worth it in the end, though - but I think you realise that, as he’s already worked his labrador magic on you so that you want to show us photos (and we love puppy photos!).

Hello and a very warm welcome @Jilldrinkwater
We've all been there.
Lab puppies really are hard work. Tears feature highly with a lot of new puppy parents, even those who have "had a lab before" and it wasn't like this.

What kind of reaction did he have?

Welcome @Jilldrinkwater and lovely Oscar. We have always skipped the puppy stage and adopted adult dogs (which is still trying at times). I am in awe of every single one of you who takes on a puppy. Feel free to cry & rant and vent on here - there is a lot of understanding and support.

He’s slept all day has hardly eaten anything and drank very little I rang emergency vets and they said to watch as the little he’d had I’d been putting water on xx

Yeah they can sometimes be a bit out of sorts for sure.
If he isn't drinking much, you could maybe give him some water with a few flakes of tinned tuna in the bottom - this sometimes encourages drinking.
