I'm back!

It's been a crazy academic year. All my students are now busy preparing for exams and panicking to get assignments submitted so the email deluge has reduced to a trickle. My 'problem student' has formally withdrawn from the course. The Covid rules have stopped changing and been withdrawn so I don't need to re-issue my risk assessments every week. The new Health and Safety guy has finally accepted that I know what I'm doing with pyrotechnics and rocket engines and has decided to let me get on with the research. I've actually got some free time!

To summarize the last 7 months:
- Holly is still in good health. At 9 years old she's just as active as ever and still loves muddy wallows.
- Going for early walks (i.e. before the students wake up & start emailing) has been very enjoyable. The world is very quiet with lots of wildlife around.
- We've finally got a parking pass for the Forest of Dean so we often start and finish our walks by one of the cafes. Coffee and a shared flapjack - yummy!
- To celebrate our freedom we've booked a cottage near Swanage for a week and are going to continue our exploration of the SW Coast Path. Holly, Ruth and I LOVE our coast path walks - long walks, picnics, ice creams, pub teas. Everything a Lab needs.

So who fancies a SW pack walk? They're doing really nice apricot flapjacks at Beechenhurst at the moment so we could start and finish there (if people don't mind paying for parking).
