In praise of Chappie !

As you no doubt know , Nelly had this tummy bug and recovered well . Then Reuben got it and really suffered badly , he was quite worryingly poorly at one stage , then started to improve, but this was temporary . It was back to the rice and white fish which he ate because he is a labrador and would eat anything to fill his tummy . However , I wondered if this diet was actually making him worse as , although fine in himself , his poo was awful . I remembered hearing that vets often suggested Chappie original wet food so , two days ago , I ditched the rice diet and gave him a small amount of his kibble with the Chappie and a dollop of kefir bio natural yoghurt . and wow , what a difference it made, like magic . His poo is nice and firm at last, so Chappie it will be for several days , it has been a life saver

Agree! Cassie had a dodgy tum over the weekend and I bought some Chappie. It worked well.

I never use rice we learnt from the gastro consultant it's actually not that good for upset stomachs in dogs. I stick with white fish and use prokolin profibre and enterogenic powder. I stick with the chappie it very gentle on their tums

Yes , I bought some more prokolin online as the ( very expensive ) paste the vet gave me didnt seem to be doing any good at all xx

Apparently , it is very low fat and highly digestible . I gather many owners use it for dogs with pancreas issues due to the low fat , whatever it is I am sticking to it for a while xx

Low fat is always to go with a dog who has gastric issues too. Easily digest able low fat food really helped Rory

My old vet used to swear by chappie but it had to be the original flavour. I have to order it from Pharmall pet food store. Jolly’s do stock it but often sell out.

Yes, you`re right , it must be the original flavour, not the chicken one . I dont know if you have a Morrisons near to you but thats where I got mine from xx

Agree, has to be The Original.

Its hard to get single tins of it though, much easier to buy in a 6-pack, which for me didn't make sense. I know B&M sell it too but only in the bigger pack unfortunately.

I`ve been to Morrisons this morning , they sell individual tins of the original Chappie , I bought four tins as I will keep Reuben on it with his kibble for several days xx
