It must be the day for it

Poorly dogs I mean . I took Nelly for a walk , she trotted along beside me but none of her usual scampering . Back home , she tends to always fly out onto the back garden , to look for interlopers , she didn't . She doesn't want her tea and has had a bit of a leaky bottom scenario and yet her first morning poo was fine , Vets tomorrow if she isn't much improved xx

Oh heavens , I can laugh now but ............. ! Nelly was really unsettled , seemed to want food but wouldn't eat . I had some rice left from our tea , so offered her some and she gobbled it all up . She seemed to settle a little after this , but then at some unearthly hour , she asked to go out, I went with her with a torch , normally she would be distracted by a torch but she seemed to be in trouble passing something which eventually ejected from her bottom . I scooped it up in some kitchen roll ( the things we do eh ?) and nearly died when I saw what looked like her bowel lining . I actually screamed , whilst she decided that 4a.m was a good time for hedgehog patrol , tears rolling down my face I got her in and sat deliberating about calling the emergency Vet , when the penny dropped . The night before , I had made a casserole and saved all the meat trimmings for Nelly , she usually has minced beef , so I thought this would be a treat , cut into little chunks . I had saved the bloody clotted mess for the Vet to see , and on a more close inspection , it was not part of her innards , just meat , lots of undigested meat . Thank heavens I didn't get a call out , what a total prat I would have felt !
Normal service has been resumed , walk executed , breakfast of scrambled egg eaten , Phew ! xxx

Oh Kate, we can laugh now, but what a shock!!!!!

Reminds me of one time a couple of days after Poppy had a fit, I found a soft black squidgy something in her bed attached to her teddy bear... I immediately thought it was a poo that she had done involuntarily during another fit in the night, and was wailing and crying, until the 'poo' started to move and stick two little antenna out... It was a SLUG that had got stuck on the teddy which had been left in the garden overnight!!!

Oh my goodness...I’m glad she’s ok @kateincornwall ....one does have to laugh...it reminds me of the horrible moment with my first pooch when he was straining to pass something that was hanging out if his rear (sorry). What’s a doggy mum to do but to put her hand in the poo bag as a makeshift glove and pull it out? But this kept stretching and stretching...I honestly thought I was pulling out his intestines or something until I realized it was a nylon stocking of mine he had eaten. :hungover:
