It's been a year...

It's been nearly a year since Otter had her ground- breaking operation at Anderson Moore's. I have to admit we really doubted we could work at any real level wrt to gun-dog training.

Today was a big day. We decided to introduce the dummy launcher. So in terms of skills, we had to make sure beforehand that she was OK with shot, as well as the other factors which we had shaped beforehand to come together.

I have stitched 2 videos together, as it is interesting to compare how seamlessly Bramble works through the same task. With Otter there is a lot more encouragement, plus I use the whistle to help bring her in. I make a mistake though, and in my haste hadn't appreciated that fact that Otter has quite got the handling confidence that Bramble has of the article, much more work needed on this.

Good girl Otter! You are one incredible young chocolate girl!

Oh they are brilliant. I'm impressed not just at the retrieving, but the staying still until they are told to go, especially with something so exciting.

What a great milestone after all your hard work and fighting on Otter's behalf to get her back from her injury. You and @Mr Beanwood are heroes. Otter looks wonderful and so happy working. And of course the ever-professional Miss Brambleina.

By the way, your whistles and 'good girl, good girl' got Carbon up and looking around for you. "Where are the Kate treats, ML? WHERE??" šŸ˜‚
