Lambies for Joy please.

Thankyou everyone for the extra Lambies!
We were at the vet's for 8am, all the nurses there know her well and made a big fuss of her, which she loves. I explained that she seems to be able to see very little, if anything now, and told them the key words I use to help her understand which way she needs to go ('this way', with a gentle tug on the lead in the right direction works well) and noticed the nurse using this with her straight away, and Joy following, which was reassuring to see. They will ring me as soon as she's out of surgery to let me know how it went and I should be able to pick her up at about 2pm, which is three hours earlier than I was originally told, so that's good. In the meanwhile I'm going to fill some Kongs with things she likes for the freezer and I think I might just take a short trip to buy a bottle of wine. I feel that a small glass might be permitted thisevening, even though it's only Thursday. Will keep you updated.

Joy's surgery was delayed, due to a complication with the previous patient. However she is now out and recovering well, still drowsy but able to lift her head, according to the vet nurse who rang me. (Probably wondering where her tea is!) I can ring back in about half an hour to find out when she can come home. The house has been strangely quiet without her and I'll be so glad ti have her back!

She's home! Hungry, as predicted, despite having been fed at the vets, so I gave her a small amount more just to help her settle. She's also a little bit squeaky, which is normal for her after a G.A. so not worrying. I've tried to persuade her to settle in her downstairs bed, but no, she insists on lying on the landing, her usual place at this time of day, and is barking at passing dogs and cats, but again that's her normal routine and if that's what keeps her happy then I reckon it's OK. I'll keep a careful eye on her thisevening but I think the signs are good so far.
I think we could both do with a short snooze now!
