Lambies for Joy please.

Vet rang thismorning, the Huddersfield branch has had a few cancellations for today, so would we like to go thisafternoon? Yes please! Also my friend Fiona happened to have a free afternoon, so off we went. However, during the morning I had noticed that Joy's behaviour appeared to be completely back to normal, apart from still not wanting to go out through the gates. She was pleased to see Fiona, and got into her van very happily and was waggy and polite to everyone at the vet's. She had blood taken for repeat testing, I mentioned that she seemed much happier and more comfortable than she had been, the vet checked the pressure in her eyes again and.....well, it was back to normal! Now we're home and she's her usual happy self, no problems at all, eating as usual so we'll wait and see and maybe, just maybe, she won't need to have her cataracts removed after all! She's due for her Librella injection on Friday, so her eyes can be checked again then and I'll just have to ask if this is something fairly usual, or is she a little miracle dog!

Had soup for lunch and just happened to have toast, rather than bread with it! As I've said before, I'm putty in her paws!:giggl: We didn't go for a walk, partly because the weather is so awful and partly because I didn't want to risk her overdoing things. Joy didn't look interested in going out through the gate, but was her usual enthusiastic self about ball games in the garden. We did 15 minutes of this thismorning, again, not wanting to risk overdoing it, then thisafternoon she was squeaking by the door wanting more....or was she wanting to go next-door to steal Loki's food again? More games, tea eaten, happy and settled as anything. Depending on the weather tomorrow we might try a short walk, to practise for walking up to the vet on Friday.

I've been thinking about this Candy. Its not my area of expertise, but I think bad cataracts can sometimes cause glaucoma. And even though GGJ's pressure has normalised, I would have an open mind on whether she might still need treatment.
I'm glad she's more like her normal self
She is precious.
I've been thinking the same, I must admit. I'm planning to have a discussion tomorrow about the likelihood of the problem recurring and whether it might be best to watch and wait for a while, or to remove them now, before increasing age makes the procedure more risky. Thanks for your words of wisdom Jacqui, it's helpful to know that someone with more medical knowledge than me is thinking along the same lines.

If it was possible and a good outcome I think I would do it.
