Lambies for Red please

So today Red is at the vets. I have heard from them and can go for her early afternoon. She has had the two back teeth extracted that we were told about and fortunately no more. This is the 3rd general anaesthetic she has had this year and I really wasn’t looking forward to today. This morning’s no breakfast passed well - she didn’t make a fuss. I hear myself talking to her telling her why she can’t have breakfast and she seems to understand - probably my imagination but I like to think that is so. She was so sweet at the vets in the waiting room - each person who came in was greeted by her and she seemed to be saying ‘Have you got my breakfast?’

She really is a sweet girl.
Just collected her and three people said that - the vet, the nurse and the receptionist. Good to have her home - she’s a bit whoozy. I am so glad it’s done. Follow up is on Saturday and 2nd in ten days time. She has stitches which are dissolvable. They have given her pain relief and special food. They haven’t needed to shave her leg as the fur is still growing back from September’s op - I’m pleased about that

Just catching up on this whole thread which I’d not seen before - poor Red! I was relieved to read that her last surgery went well and no more teeth needed extracting. Those big back ones were already a lot!

It’s disheartening when you’ve cared for her teeth so well to still have dental issues. When Carbon’s tooth just basically dissolved last summer, I felt like it just wasn’t fair. Like you said though, apparently genetics can do a number even when we’ve done all the care.

I hope Red has a fast heal up now and is back to her old self. And that you can feel relief knowing surgery is behind you. All that anticipation can take a toll on us humans!
