Lindisfarne - Spencer’s special holiday.

I like to take each pup on holiday to Lindisfarne to enjoy the wide open spaces and beaches. This week it’s Spencer’s turn!

It’s a three hour journey and he was good as gold in the car with just one stop. We had to get here in plenty of time as the causeway is closed from mid day to 8pm, which makes the island lovely and quiet for most of the day. We had a nice walk then a pub lunch, after a snooze we’ll have another stroll up to the castle. The cottage is fabulous - dog friendly with a walled garden. Spencer has had lots of ‘give’ practice with windfall apples

He's so very good on recall-and-sit! What a lovely video and photos @Boogie, it looks like a great place for a dog-friendly holiday. Lidisfarne is beautiful too. Hope you have a super break.

Of course, Tatze is with Zaba, her Best Friend in the Whole Wide World - they’re having a ball. It’s also nice for Spencer to have us to himself for a week.

He’s the youngest puppy we’ve brought and he’s not 100% ‘safe’ yet widdle-wise. So far so good!

Spencer slept really well. It was his first night sleeping in a crate but he settled straight away. He woke at 6.10am - too early for me but I didn’t try putting him back to bed, so he had a search for apples in the garden and now he’s snoozing ‘till breakfast. This morning we are going for a beach walk

Spencer had a great time on the beach near Bamburgh. At one point he went haring off after a couple of people but he came back really well on a whistle recall.

He’s exhausted now!

Sweet Jiminy, that run!! His limbs, his tail, his ears - how does he manage them all?! Gorgeous boy, and super recall. Enjoy the peace and quiet

He’s been off lead for just over a week. GDs method of teaching recall has worked 100% for all my pups so far.
