I’m sure everyone can understand why I am FREAKING out right now. I have found a lump on Hugo’s back, an inch or so off to the side of his spine, I’ll post a photo for reference. I phoned the vet instantly and they are fitting us in tomorrow morning at 9:30. The receptionist who has been there forever, met Axel as a puppy and was there the day I said Goodbye
Anyways, she said it’s quite normal for puppies to develop a lump where the injection site was a week or so after the injection, which was exactly a week yesterday, and the spot where it is she said is typically where they get their vaccines, and he did get his first set in that area. It feels deep, like I have to grab his excess skin and pull it away from his body to be able to feel the whole round lump. But it’s very noticeable when petting him. Size of a large marble. It definitely wasn’t there yesterday, or I guess least not to the size it is now and maybe that’s why I didn’t notice it.
Dr Google tells me it’s most common to happen with the rabies vaccine, which he did get last week. So, I’m trying to calm myself down, but in the mean time… have any of your puppies/dogs developed a marble sized lump after vaccines?
It’s about where this red circle is.
