This reminds me... A work colleague grew up in the country and was swimming in the creek with her dad as a kid when he told her to get out of the water.
"No dad, I'm having fun."
"No, really get out."
Turns out the thing that had brushed her leg (that she thought was a fish or something) was a brown snake.
