Magnetic clips for leads

The french lady in the apartment next door has magnetic clips for her dog leads. I’ve never seen these before. They worked really well especially for her to clip leads on to three friendly golden retrievers with a broken finger. Has anyone used these? I can’t find the same ones on the internet.

The reviews on the two Amazon links were...interesting. Especially the one from the person whose clip broke on the second use, her dog ran away and nearly got run over and then she's upset the company hasn't sent a replacement. A replacement for the thing that nearly killed her dog? People are weird.

Probably a fine idea for people who don't really need a lead to begin with because their dogs are so chilled out. Would have been great for Brogan. Would be a disaster for Carbon.

Finally, I do hope to be inconvenient when I'm elderly. :sneaky:

I have read this thread many times trying to understand which part of this is magnetic as I just can’t figure it out..... i think I’m just too tired:giggl: (or I’m stupid :wasntme:)
So I think that it's the bit between the blue chunk of plastic and the metal clip that stays attached to the dog's collar. I imagine the design is such that the magnet "sucks" the metal clip in and it clicks into place behind a sticky-out-bit, so the magnet isn't doing the job of actually holding them together. Then when you press the grey button on the blue bit, it retracts the bit that clicked it in, so it can drop out.

Apparently it is the half that stays on the dog as some of the reviews mentioned dogs sticking to the their wire crates or metal bowls. Which...

But how the magnet actually works, I don't have a clue!

Yes, the lady showed me more exactly how they worked. The magnet pulls the knob bit into the socket then clips either side hold it in place securely. Then you press the button to release the clips. They were quite secure but I don’t know how well it a large dog lunged suddenly. Oscar the younger dog is a bit boisterous but doesn’t pull hard on the lead.
