Maxx at the vets

We had a very good vet visit yesterday. Mr loony toons was bouncing around waiting for Nurse Caroline to dish out the treats but when it came time to go into the consultation room he sat down and wouldn't budge! Last time I remember he hesitated but this time he was not having a bar of it. Nurse Caroline had to chuck some treats in before he would go in

Once in he was a very good boy. The vet took a swab from both ears and checked under the microscope and there were no signs of infection thankfully. So he gave his ears a very thorough clean and recommended we buy some eye-wateringly expensive wax remover (which we did of course) to use in addition to the wash solution. He took a biopsy from a lump on his chest but didn't seem concerned. Three injections and we were all done

The best news is he has lost 4 KILOS!! He was 48.5 this time last year and our tiny reduction in his food has paid off as he was 44.4 yesterday. The vet was very happy and told him he was a very handsome boy, especially now he had a waist

Maxx sounds like a dream patient. But why are vet meds soooo expensive? Anything with “dog” on the label is multiples more expensive than the human equivalent. Why??
