Maxx the hero guard dog

Our little suburb has always been almost completely crime free but lately there has been a spate of break ins and car theft. I was home alone on Thursday and on a work call when there was a very strange noise at the front door. Maxx went nuts and his bark is very big and ferocious

I went and looked and couldn't see anything so thought nothing of it. Now, however, we are struggling to get our front door keys to work and thinking back it sounded just like a screwdriver jiggling in the lock. If so I guess they heard Maxx and fled

Yikes!

Good job Maxxi boy. Sometimes all it needs is a bark, especially if the people have no idea what kind of dog is behind.
Hope you get the lock sorted and back to normal.

Good boy, Maxx!

It's for reasons like this that I wish that Xena would bark at front door sounds.
I'd certainly be more comfortable if Carbon was a little more suspicious, but he is what he is: a big moosh face. He does go all ferocious if I stare at someone that I find suspicious - then you can't shut him up. This is nice if we are alone and someone dodgy comes into sight, and I am grateful. Or if a cat or squirrel were trying to break in, he'd be ALL over that.

But otherwise, Carbon is one of those Labradors that famously would invite the burglar in and show him where the silver is. Not that I have silver, but ya know...

Great work Maxx!
Homer who will wake me up in the middle of the night because they may or may not have been a cat creep part the back fence slept though when an intruder entered our house. To be fair he did growl in his sleep but I told him to shh.
