Gorgeous , both of them xx
Fantastic news, I'm so pleased for you and Merlin; and this also a great testament to your care of him, as clearly you're doing everything possible to give him his best life with the least discomfort possible. Long may it continue indeed!Merlin's physiotherapist came for a check up yesterday (first time since December), and was very, very pleased with his progress. We agreed to continue with a check-up every three to four months (unless there are any problems).
I am so happy; a year ago we were in despair after getting his HD diagnosis. Now it seems there is a good chance that with proper management Merlin can continue to have a happy, pain-free and active life. This is wonderful; I love him so much and am so delighted, he's such a charming and engaging fellow and a joy to have around. Long may this continue!
To be honest, I've stopped doing the exercises with Merlin now. I am very careful with him though, and really watch what he's doing - I don't let him charge around uncontrolledly with other dogs for instance, though he would like to, and I'm careful about the retrieving work I let him do. What I think a good physiotherapist does is to recognise quickly where there is a problem, and to take steps to help correct that. I think we were very lucky to find out about Merlin's HD long before any symptoms arose - but he will likely develop arthritis later in life. We are enjoying life day to day and grateful for the way things are now.I am so pleased for you and for Merlin as well. Do you feel physiotherapy really works?
