Nelly's dog attack journey ❤️

Oh Kate I'm so,so sorry. Poor little Nelly. She always comes across as such a brave and stoical little soul, so hopefully she'll make a good recovery, but you and Paul must be in pieces. As @HAH has said, try to remember to take care of yourselves and don't hesitate to reach out for help and support when you need it.
Probably not top of your list at the moment, but I also feel it's important that the owners of the dog who attacked your poor girl are made aware of how much damage has been done. They need to make sure this can never happen again.
You're very much in my thoughts. xxx

I will ask around tomorrow to see if anyone knows the owner , I`m just so angry with myself that I didnt take her details but we were in a panic to get her to the Vets . Our poor little darling, such an inoffensive little girl , she was just a metre from my side when this happened . The bill is horrendous but frankly, we dont care , we just want her back home where she will be loved and cared for , poor love xx

Kate I have just read what happened. Nelly is in the best hands and I really can't imagine what you are going through at the moment. Don't beat yourself up about the phone number as your priority was getting Nelly to the vet. I will be thinking of you tomorrow x

Agree. It would have been impossible to think of anything but making sure Nelly was safe.

I am sorry to hear Nelly will lose her leg, but she will cope in her own strong way. You must be exhausted with it all. I hope you can get some rest and get some support too. Thinking of you xx

Thank you for all your love and best wishes . I feel numb , I took our dear little soul out for a walk with four legs and tomorrow she will have three . I know many dogs cope well , but she is an elderly girl now , I dread it . I have posted all over local FB pages in an effort to find the owner of the mastiff , I dont think we will hear from her again . Our poor poor little dog , she must be in agony and we just want her home xxx

Oh my goodness this is awful. I’m so sorry, Kate. I can’t imagine how frightening this must have been for you. A mastiff? Good heavens what kind of owner of such a large dog does not make sure they can control it before letting it off leash?
I am so angry about this. I know things can happen quickly and sometimes dogs react completely out of character but I do wonder if this hasn’t happened before.
Big hugs and prayers from here. I hope the surgery goes well and little Nellie can come home and recover soon.

There can't be many people who have a mastiff. I would contact the police it could happen to a child.
Nelly was doing nothing when it attack her.

When you feel up to it and Nelly is safe at home, you could contact your local newspaper to Warn other dogs owners of the potential danger so that they can avoid it.
