I've not been around much recently, just working through all sorts of "life" stuff, but work still continues with Talia. I've not had the time or capacity to do lots of video of late, but I captured this wonderful moment this morning. Squidge is a total darling!

Talia is now regularly coming up to me to be stroked, and every day I take Ginny and Squidge in at least once to see her. Since the first couple of attempts by Squidge to get her to play, and them not really understanding each other, my little chocolate superstar has been very calm and gentle with Talia, all but ignoring her. In the last few days, I've noticed a marked change in how Talia is behaving when I'm sat on the floor feeding them in turn: where before, Talia would hang back and pop in to take a bite every once in a while, it seems that by giving the exercise a clear structure where I repeat the same order over and over, saying the dog's name each time ("Ginny".... "Squidge"... "Talia"...) as I feed the food, now Talia is happy to stay right in the mix with the other two, and even pushing up as close to me (the food!) as possible. None of them have any hint of guarding behaviour with the food, so this is lovely to see, as I interpret it as learning to trust not just me, but the other two dogs as well. And then, this morning.... this happened. I wasn't geared up with my GoPro, so I missed the first couple of seconds as I watched what was happening, and then got my phone out to record. What I missed from the start of the clip was Squidge rolling around on her back having tummy rubs, Talia coming over to see what all the nonsense was about, and then offering a little play bow. Well, Squidge is never one to turn down an offer of play, so.... here we are! Talia and Squidge starting to play together!! HURRAH!!! | Courage Doesn't Always Roar

I just love Talia - she's so happy now! And what a polite player Squidge is - at the end she walks away as if to say, "Just giving you a little chill break, let me know when you want to go again".

Loved seeing this on FB earlier, Squidge is a darling. It also satisfied my ‘where is Snowbunny?’ antennae, as they were starting to twitch quite badly.

Oh, FFS. I'm making amazing progress with Talia recently, she's becoming really affectionate and confident - at least within the boundaries of "traumatised dog". I've just been in with her, got to the point of stroking along the underside of her tummy.... and found a mass. Fuck fuck fuckity fuck. It's on one of her nipples, so most likely mammary cancer. So now we need to get her to the vet, which is going to totally destroy all the good progress. Did I say, "fuck"?

Unbelievable. I really don't know what to say to help. F****. You must be devastated. However her health is now much more important and I know you have done something amazing with the belly rubs but she has to be checked out.
