Absolutely. I can't change that now. Knowing that we were going to end up with them, I wish I had taken them three years ago, but there's no point thinking about that, either. The fact is that I wasn't ready for them then, and didn't have the time because of going back to Andorra for the winter. And Ginny needed a lot of special care, of course.This made me think about Carbon and I "talking" last night. I told him I wished he could tell me what his life was before I met him...then I thought, "Nope, probably best that we don't know that after all".
Whatever happened in their lives before they were in the shelter - and they've both been there for more than eleven years - it wouldn't affect the approach we're taking now. It's all just behaviour.
J has been with them most of the day today, adding extra insulation to the areas they sleep in, just to keep them a bit more toasty, and we've bought some polyurethane sheeting to close in the fronts so that when the bad weather comes they have more protection from the elements. It's a far cry from the fireinametalbox that the others enjoy, but "poc a poc" as they say round these parts!
