Not chewing food?

Do puppies chew their food? Maslow just swallows it whole! Which isn’t too bad when it’s kibble but I gave him some liver cake biscuits yesterday and he literally swallowed them whole. They were probably 3x3cm so not exactly tiny?

His food has recently been upped (we hand feed as part of his ongoing training) and so we have a bit ‘spare’ now as opposed to previously when it all went towards his training. I’m not too worried about his kibble as like I said he’s fed that throughout the day in 2/3 pieces at a time.

I’ve been using kongs, snuffle mats and treat balls etc but he is still eating it whole. It’s literally in the mouth and swallow!

Dogs in general don't chew. They crunch and swallow - job done ??. I would probably make the liver cake pieces smaller to reduce the risk of choking but apart from that I wouldn't worry to much ?

Xena definitely inhaled her food when she was small (gone in seconds) but now that she's older and more sensible *snort* she takes...slightly more time to eat and there's definitely some crunching involved. Maslow might grow into it too.

The only time I've seen Maxx chew and chew is when we fed him a bit of salt and vinegar rice cake. He chewed it as if to say 'I like this...I think...maybe not.....oh yes...no...errr'. I will try to load the video via facebook

None of mine chew their food. I always put water on it but Zaba still inhales it, then throws up. So he has a slow bowl which makes him eat just slowly enough.
