go and fetch a bin bag and empty all the undies out of the drawer as he had been flinging them around the bedroom with joyful abandon

I was telling OH about this on our walk with Maxx this morning and he thought it was hilarious too.

I'm sure you didn't find it terribly amusing at 1.00am though Kate...sorry he is keeping you up....but it really is so darn cute :inlove:

Happy to report that the monster slept well last night ! I had put a lovely fleecy blankie on his bed, he got straight on it, made a nest and fell instantly to sleep , until 7 this morning when his bladder woke him ! Never have I seen such a massive wee in the garden , bless him ! He had been much better yesterday , responding well to my intervening when play got too rough , same again this morning too . He was out in the garden and found a piece of hard plastic pipe , a cut off from the pond drain , this was a prize possession which he absolutely loved , played out there on his own, in the drizzle for half an hour and now snoring away xx

We seem to be settling in to a routine . Mornings are manic , as he and Nelly greet one another like they have been apart for months , and its full on playtime ! Play is interrupted at half time by breakfast , then out into the garden for toilet and chase games . Usually by 10.30 , they both have a snooze , Nelly by my side on the sofa, Reuben in his bed , blissfully quiet for an hour if we`re lucky ! After lunch , Nelly has her main walk , sometimes with Paul and I stay home with Reuben , but we do take him out to Golitha , where he stays at the café with his Dad , its good for his socialisation to see cars and people , he is also allowed to meet dogs who we know are vaccinated . Back home to play and generally mess about, bitey face is a favourite with both of them and short sessions of training recall . We usually manage to have them both pretty much settled by around 8.p.m. or so , and apart from last wee , he stays quiet and reasonably calm until bed time at 11 . He is sleeping until between 6 and 7 in the morning , cant grumble at that ! I am sure that there will be " those " days , the " What have we done " days, but all in all , he is a good little lad , inquisitive happy and very loving , remind me of those words in a few days, weeks , months xxxx

So happy to read this Kate :D He sounds like he's blending in so well, and darling Nelly has taken him on beautifully. What a girl! I love the sound of your routines and particularly the evenings; we never got a settled evening routine, on the horizon but still a way off. Long may your 8pm calm time last! Exactly as you say, there will always be those "seriously?" days, but may they be few and far between. Sounds like it's all off to a glorious start, and a huge chunk of that is due to you and Paul. You are wonderful dogparents - lucky little Reuben :giggle: xx
