Ah poor lad, I hope he is feeling better today.

Must say if he were my dog I think I'd have been back by now... but maybe their situation does not allow them to come back. You have taken such good care of him!!!

He's more settled today, and he is enjoying small meals of soaked kibble and taking his meds in yoghurt so far.
Very tired , but that's only to be expected.

Happily Oddy is continuing to improve, I'm still giving him soaked kibble at frequent intervals which he is keen for, and he had a proper poo this morning.
He's just started to lick the wound so I've put his vest on properly now.
Both he and I think 5 minute lead walks are pain!

If we're celebrating a poo, then he's officially a Forum Dog. It's pretty much a rite of passage (no pun intended) here!

So pleased to read Oddy is all sorted out now. What a relief!

Oddy had a post op check yesterday afternoon. The vet was happy with his food intake etc, he is up to his usual quantity in four meals a day and is taking his meds well. I am to increase his food so that he can regain the weight he lost, but still soak it and divide it into four.
He's visibly more comfortable now and I will start decreasing his pain meds tomorrow.
She was a bit concerned about the area around the wound which was a bit swollen and red, so he has a cone and ruff to wear now as he was starting to lick through the medivest. Today the suture line looks really good, fingers crossed it was the inflammatory response.
So, next check up Friday, before the weekend.
