Off on my travels again.

Sounds great @Joy! We have a week booked off in March, but not decided where to go. Likely somewhere hot for a quick all-inclusive (maybe Dominican Republic) or might go to Florida which I'm lobbying to drive so Quinn can come.
You're going to drive from Canada to Florida?! How long would that take?

All enjoy your trips, especially the Garden one. Sound really good and all will be fab.

We will play it by ear and see how these two settle for now, and if well sellted then maybe in Winter (July) go away with them.

oh man I would LOVE to see Istanbul, too!

We just got back from California :giggl: so no trips for us for awhile. However we have two weddings to go to, one in Victoria, BC (July) and one in Kelowna, BC (October). I am hoping that in July we can stay longer than the weekend on Vancouver Island as I love it there, but it will depend on hubby’s work schedule.

Oh and I forgot...probably will be going to Montreal in June for my eldest son’s graduation (Master’s Degree).

We REALLY want to head to England soon, though! Not this summer, but maybe next? We’ll see....

I’m going away in two weeks to a house on a river with friends (12 of us). Includes four young kids, a miniature schnauzer puppy—will be 5 months, an energetic, very sweet yorkie x maltese, and Snowie. I think Snowie will have the time of his life! My husband, who is sensitive to screaming kids (me, too, if they’re our neighbours!) probably won’t come unfortunately.

Lovely to read about all your plans for holidays, I haven't been away for over ten years and no prospect of ever going on holiday again. Couldn't leave Rourke either, would miss him too much!
I always really miss whichever dog I've left when I go abroad, but I do love travelling so much and feel I want to do as much as I can while I'm still able to. It means that a big part of my pre travel arrangements consist of ensuring that every possible eventuality for dog and person looking after her is covered. Dave, who is looking after Joy for me has lists of numbers for people who can help out with Joy or give advice should he have any problems, numbers for Identibase, vet and 24 hour emergency vet, numbers for people who've got spare keys for the house, number for Daycare, etc etc. I suspect he might feel it's all a bit OTT but it's the only way I can go with anything resembling a clear conscience. I also spend much of my time away trying to find myself a 'Labrador Fix' ! It's still worth it though, exploring new places and cultures and meeting new people and of course the looking forward to seeing my GGJ when I get back! I am sorry that circumstances no longer allow you to go on holiday Jelinga, and hope that you had some lovely times away while you could.

When we went to Greece we went to a monastery and I just had denim shorts and a vest top on.

A monk prodded the bottom of my bum cheek and wagged his finger at me 😳
Was that at Meteora? It seems these kinds of places are prepared with skirts which they hand out to hide bare legs. I always carry a thin silk scarf that folds into nothing but which I can wrap all around me if needed. My husband also had to wear the skirt—at least there was equality among the offending bare legs. We reckoned they did it so that they could have a great laugh afterwards—we looked ridiculous!!

We're off to Perth for a long weekend in a few weeks. It's a four hour flight to go and see my brother and his family.

Then we're off to LA in July.

We're planning another Europe trip next year but I think I'll need a short trip somewhere before then. Maybe just to QLD.

Anyway...better get back to work so that I can actually afford to go on all of these holidays!
