Off on our holibobs

Busy day today!

Firstly, we headed up to John O’ Groats. Christopher has never been up this way before so I enjoyed showing him around!

The obligatory photos with the sign!

After getting our photos, looking around the gift shops (and buying a jigsaw… oops @Jacqui-S :giggl: ), we drove 5 mins to Duncansby Head

Back down into John O’Groats, we decided to stop at the petting farm… yes, there is a petting farm there! I absolutely LOVED IT (I may post a video of me feeding a goat 🐐)

After that, I introduced Christopher to geocaching! This one we had to look through all of the tiny keys to find the right one for the padlock - that’s where the actual log was so we could say we found it!

Heading slightly west, we travelled to Dunnet Head - the ACTUAL most northerly point on the British mainland… 8FE3D376-29DF-462B-9561-4600DE40932B.jpeg

Oreo says that the viewpoint was nice, but she much preferred the huge empty beach!!

Walking along the beach and then up the dunes, we got to some woods. We did a wee walk around the woods and did some more geoc

A great day was had by all. Oreo is zonked:sleepy::sleepy:

OK a bit late but see I knew I was right. North as North you can go without taking a ferry. I just needed names of towns....

Glad you are enjoying it as it sounds like fun and nice scenery

Today, we went for a couple of beach walks. The first walk was Sandside Bay. We both enjoyed walking over the rocks and looking for things. We saw loads of crabs!

Our second walk was at a place called Puffin Cove. Now, it was absolutely stunning. Definitely one of my favourite places I’ve been to (and well worth the steep climb back up!!). A beautiful hidden gem 💎

Busy day today before heading home tomorrow.

We travelled west to the absolutely stunning Ceannabeinne Beach!

This is THE main road along the north coast of Scotland - North Coast 500 route.

On our way back, we stopped at another beach so Christopher could collect some mussels. We had a great laugh when the tide came in very quickly! Oreo was very unimpressed :giggl: let’s just say that Christopher’s wellies need a few days to dry out, and I needed rescued before I would be in that same situation… it was great fun!

Incredible scenery!! Love those rocks at Puffin Cove. And the zoomies— hilarious! But is that what you were laughing at? How cold was the water??
