Special day today! First "Offical" day out!
We also had @Emily_Babbelhund and the gorgeous ( sooooo well behaved...) Carbon along for company.
We set off for our local little village, which is VERY dog-friendly. The car ride could've been better, Otter isn't quite there yet with being comfortable, so we have a bit more just sitting in the car, doing nothing but good stuff, and not actually going anywhere.
When we arrived we were lucky to find a parking spot just a few feet away from the entrance to the coffee shop, excellent! I haven't worked on the lead yet, so didn't want a struggle walking up the high street. We have really just focussed on Otter being happy to wear the harness, as well as having the harness put on. I found it really helpful to make a game of this, using a much larger harness than needed to get Otter happy to have something to put her head through that wasn't restrictive.
We sit with a good view of the front door, so people walking in, didn't spot us, and walked AWAY from us, not towards us, so as non-threatening for Otter as possible. I had brought a small piece of familiar vet bed, to help Otter settle. All in all, it was a lovely visit. It helped that Carbon was super calm, an excellent role model! We worked on a calm settle, and carefully dropped treats when she looked disengaged from us, yet happy with her surroundings.
A little video, and a couple of photos
Carbon....such a good boy!

And little Otter....she really has grown!
