Ouch!

So Pepper managed to get stung by a ?. Poor little boy was running around on the grass and then an anguished yelp and he’s spinning round in circles whining.

After we’d calmed him down it took us about 30 minutes to find and remove the stinger.

The emergency vet was very helpful on the phone and thanks to reading the forum we had Piriton with us to administer with squeezy cheese!

Ouch, poor Pepper! Nice calm action by you though.

When Ella was a puppy, she stepped on a bee and the OH picked her up immediately, we actually ran back to the car and raced to the vet (I called them on the way)! It's possible that we may have slightly overreacted :LOL:

I'm so impressed you managed to find the stinger on a wriggling pup!
It wasn’t easy, a constant stream of treats from the OH, and I eventually found it on the edge of his ear. Then more treats in order that I could carefully remove it!

Now he’s lying on the cool tiled floor looking a little sorry and sleepy. I’m sure he’ll be on the mend soon!

Two of the most instantly painful moments in my life have been wasp stings. Trumped by the time I got my big toe trapped in the iron spring of an unfolding sofa bed. No I haven't had children, yes I may be a bit of a wuss, but stings are particularly painful on sensitive areas... I batted the wasp down my top, rather than away from it?

Sounds like you managed really well, poor Pepper. More treats tonight hopefully ?
